Traditional Thai Massage Training
Foundations | Intermediate | Advanced

Our Traditional Thai Massage Trainings (Nuad Boran) are intensive and meant to help students think outside the proverbial 'box'. Unlike larger schools and massage programs, students have the opportunity to study privately with the instructor, in small groups, or in a hosted workshop at their studio or clinic. The body is a whole, the sum of its parts... and more. We work on a human being, not a body. Our approach, although focused and intense, is mindful of the very important relationship between practitioner and client. We must cultivate and practice patience, compassion and understanding.

Thai Massage classes, trainings, and intensives are held at the Tibetan-Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center in Bloomington, Indiana. Lodging is available onsite for early registrants, either in the retreat cottages secluded in the woods at the back of the 108-acre TMBCC property, or in the upstairs rooms of the Cultural Center. Cottages have drive-up accessibility and ramp, heating and air-conditioning, and a basic kitchenette including mini-fridge, stove, and microwave. The upstairs rooms at the Cultural Center share two bathrooms and a large kitchen/sitting area.

Thai Massage trainings, intensives, and workshops encompass the following primary goals:

Training levels may be taken in one day (8 CEs), two day (16 CEs), three day (24 CEs) segments.
Each level may be completed over time, or consecutively as a six-day intensive (48CEs)
Thai Massage and Reusi Dat Ton-Thai Yoga trainings may be combined... See below.

Reusi Dat Ton
Reusi Dat Ton
Thai Yoga Training

Reusi Dat Ton has been metaphorically referred to as 'Thai Yoga'. This is not entirely incorrect, as the influence of yoga and Ayurvedic medicine certainly spread along with Buddhism and was ultimately absorbed into Traditional Thai Medicine (TTM). Once primarily practiced by monks and ascetics, it has with time gone through several permutations. The overall importance of breath and breathing technique have remained focal to the practice of this ancient form which can be quite simple and gentle, or exceed-ingly vigorous and demanding as one gains experience. Those with a regular Yoga, Tai Chi or Qigong prac-tice will enjoy this less-known eastern modality which is believed to be far older than Hatha yoga. If you have no experience in this or other traditional movement therapies we recommend, for your benefit, that you train privately before attending a class or workshop. Please view a full description of Reusi Dat Ton and further historical links here.
