Yoga is said to be a state of mind... It is not necessary to always 'do' yoga. Someone in a hospital bed who is having difficulty breathing will receive more benefit from a session of anxiety-reducing breathing exercises than a fit individual will gain in a year of vigorous asana practice. Ones perception of 'gain' or benefit from yoga resides in its effect on the body and the mind. For many, one comes first, then the other. If the physical barrier is too great, then the mind may be distracted... If the mind is not willing or able to focus, then the asana and practice itself are weakened.

Yoga Therapy from Head to Toe may be helpful to those who are unable to participate in regular yoga classes due to:

Class size is restricted in order to ensure that proper attention and supervision are given to each attendee, and exercises and postures are adapted when necessary. Ability, energy level, and knowledge of yoga will vary... We ask that attendees come to class with a sense of humor and respect for others.

*This class is not appropriate for those with advanced ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, Cerebral Palsy
If a cane or chair are needed for continual support, please ask about private yoga therapy sessions
